Nah man, XIV classes and jobs are locked to one weapon. Its gonna have to be either a rapier or pistols.
They dont take kindly to options 'round 'ere
Player

When I read that Musketeer needs a job made me laugh and think like this: because with the global crisis in the world he will have to be Yoshi-P slave and clean his shoes and cloth, give him massages to relax, bring him all pile of paper of work and so on.
So once Musketeer worked is ass over for an year(s) maybe Yoshi-P feel pity of him and add him to the next expansion!![]()
Or... they could make 'cavalry sword' a mainhand and 'guns' an offhand, and make it so the class is the only one with the unique abilities for that offhand weapon.
We've only had a shield as a offhand weapon so far...

Soo
If musketeer goes to red mage I think I found our red mage...

I have a job for your Musketeer.

I was gonna come in here and say Ranger, but I think I like the idea of Corsair better.

There were guilds for Arcanist and Musketeer in Limsa, which leads me to believe that SE's original intent was to have three DoW/DoM guilds in each nation. I'm sure the aforementioned classes weren't ready which left Limsa with only the Warrior's guild in addition to its crafting guilds.I don't see the logic in the necessity of another class at launch just because there'd be an imbalance of the starting battle classes per city. Gridania and Ul'dah both had 3 battle classes each at 1.0 launch and that didn't stop them from only putting one battle class in Limsa Lominsa at the start.

From what i can remember of the 1.0 storyline the Musketeers were the law enforcement in Limsa. Law enforcement becomes criminal =P possible but some what ironic. Personally would rather see Chemist/Engineer/other name for the job. I can see Red Mage though i'm not sure if i want that to happen or not same goes for Blue Mage .

i know that as of right now classes/jobs are locked to one weapon. But like i said its up to SE whether or not to allow musketeer to have pistol & rapier, rapier, musket with bayonet, blunderbuss, 2 pistols. we all seen many threads about classes locked to one weapon then the job is clone of the class with some specialization with everyone complaining about class vs job and vice versa etc etc.
some ppl argue that classes should have many weapons then each weapon could be used and branch a job specializing in using it. with some ppl and their thinking it makes sense to have many weapons in a class since evidently gladiator is a swordsman, lancer is a spear-men, mrd is an axe-men etc etc. going along with that it makes sense having many weapons in a class since there are all different types of swords, axes, and spears, bows, etc etc one of the best things about the armoury system is changing classes on the fly. SE allowing classes to have multiple weapons would just have to make a player change to gladiator once they use any type of sword, same goes for archer, mrd and lancer all using their respective weapon types.
a musketeer in that case would have many types of weapons in its arsenal then many jobs could be branched from it like rdm, corsair, cannoneer, etc etc. we have a good decent system a few pieces of the puzzle are missing along with the actual ones we have needing some more work/revisions then we can have a good class/job system.

I think it would be a nice surprise if Musketeer came out at launch! But I'm not expecting it!
