Skin shaders can do wonders for the looks. they obviously weren't there in alpha...
I don't see how the NEW engine will have limitations, the OLD engine didn't have...

Don't you know that you can tell everything about a game's graphical capabilities by playing an early alpha version? There is absolutely no way anything could improve, and the exact extent of the engine's capabilities is easily known.
(lol)
Please let that be sarcasm, which it probably is...if not;
Anything can be modified at any time, you could revise the games engine and or its various components if you wanted even after release, Alpha/Beta/Release gaps are the perfect time to re-do:
Cue FFXIV developer video for Alpha/Beta for the original release:

Oh lol on you. You think the looks of alpha was the limit their graphic engine could reach? Did you for example see Ul'dah pic from last letter? which uses extra shaders, and filters etc? Just cause they don't use HDR lighting in alpha, doesn't mean the engine doesn't have the function. It probably has that function, though they aren't using it in-game.
Yoshi said himself that he asked the graphics guys to fix the graphics for alpha, cause it wasn't high enough standard. Alpha is just bare minimum, but Yoshi demanded more than that; otherwise it would have looked worse. They can easily add skin shaders, etc afterwards. Did you for example compare lowest settings in 1.0, to highest settings? it's absurd difference. Alpha probably didnt have highest settings available even, so the difference between alpha, and released version can be immense.
Ya, just look at the lighting differences in previous post-link, and tell me nothing CAN'T change![]()
