Didn't realize they had a non Collector's Edition item... lolWonder what the non-CE item will be lol (obviously nothing physical) but last time it was the goggles.
Also I believe they said our editions would transfer across digital but not physical. Such that regular -> regular 2.0 digital and CE -> CE 2.0 digital. Reps had a small post on this once before but I cant find it again soQQ lol
Of course it would be nice for either edition to absorb the others benefits and the option of getting the physical piece (some fee to cross bundle and to get the physical edition of w.e one you own).
Edit:
Love chocobo and moogle plushies :P
You sure it wasn't a pre-order bonus?

Right sorry, but the goggle preorder item was only associated with the non collectors edition :P
But the onion helm was a preorder bonus for the collectors edition, so the difference is rather mute.
Both had an exclusive digital item in the same terms (pre-order).

No you will only get the normal download, as you already got your bonus for buying the CE and any new one will obviously have different extras. However I'm pretty sure I read somewhere about the possibility of us paying to upgrade to CE. Can anyone else remember this or am I making it up in a delusional fit of wishful thinking?
Bonus item recap.
Pre release play - CE
Onion Helm - CE
Garlond Goggles - SE
Asuran Armbands - XIII preorder code
Hermes Shoes - Active XI and XIV subscription
All the codes had to be used BEFORE making a character. It is possible if the old codes are still valid they may be made available via moogle delivery, so existing characters can obtain them but a dev would have to confirm/deny.

I swore I read a rep post saying CE owners get the CE digital in 2.0 but the rep didnt mention anything about standard, partly because the thread was all about CE and how much it sucked.
I bought the standard because I wanted the goggles XD and didnt care for the helm lol
So It would be nice to know the pre order bonuses again and if you have to buy a whole new box to get the other ones or not.
In the thread I asked for the ability to bundle the bonuses, or if they decide to not give standard a bonus they should give standard owners the option of upgrading to CE ARR (not including 1.0 CE items). And that the 1.0 CE owners can bundle the the standard bonuses of ARR into their 1.0 CE/ARR CE.

I can't wait to see the Collector's Edtion! But I'm also wondering, if there would be a Collector's Edition for the Playstation 3...and if it's gonna obtain the same extras that the PC will also have or not.
I mean, I already own the PC version obviously...but I'm kinda hoping that the PS3 has the same extras so I don't have to buy a copy of the PS3 version and then going to buy the PC cause they have different stuff. I'm just hoping for both PC and PS3 the Collector's Edition comes out with the same stuff so people don't feel like they need to get one or the other just for a certain extra.I'm thinking that if they are trying to maximise sales, they will have different bonus items for PC and PS3. As well as those who own both, there is a collectors market of games otaku who will be buying both simply to get them. Plus of course those who both collect and play so they will be buying four copies in allI'm pretty sure if they come out with a CE, it will be the same for both PS3 and PC. If they included a bonus item, I would love to see a levequest plate, an aetheryte crystal or maybe a small figurine of one of the primals. Bahamut would be nice too
Oh and Mychael, LOVE the plushy chocobo!![]()
I want a re-done onion set and maybe an artbook/soundtrack?
I lack originality to be honest.
I hope they don't do this. I don't own a PS3 (though I have access to my roommates, she could always move out; no one wants to buy games with a used one-time-use code.), and while I love this game, I could not justify buying a PS3 game just for a collectible item. I'd have a second code, which in large part is what you buy the game for.I'm thinking that if they are trying to maximise sales, they will have different bonus items for PC and PS3. As well as those who own both, there is a collectors market of games otaku who will be buying both simply to get them. Plus of course those who both collect and play so they will be buying four copies in all
I kind of hope that at 2.0 they will present us with choices. I know I said in another thread that there should be a prompt about whether you want a physical copy of the game (not free) or a digital copy, as an alternative for those who can't/don't want to download the ENTIRE game. Though I have no idea whether they'll like (or see) that idea, it could be expanded:
Just a thought. You're about to upgrade your FFXIV service account to a Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn service account! How would you like to receive your upgrade?

- Set of X discs. Ships in 3-4 weeks.
- DVD-ROM Set with Digital Access ($11.99)

When you upgrade your service account, you will retain any bonus features or items you obtained during FFXIV 1.0. Would you like to purchase the included bonus items for Final Fantasy XIV:A Realm Reborn?

- Collector's Edition Bonus In-game Item ($7.99)
- Collector's Edition Bonus Full Collection ($19.99)

I'm just excited for 2.0 because I think they will finally allow us to collect items from the codes we have after our character is created and not just before
I'm just hoping for something like soundtrack and maybe a physical collectible like maybe a meteor ring?
