Uhm, correct me if I'm wrong (because I'm confused!!) but doesn't NDA mean you are not allowed to show anything from the beta till phase 3? I mean screenshots have no sound either and you can blurr out the important parts that tell about game play. Still I think it's not allowed to publish them, I guess.
If I recall correctly the graphics were one of the reasons because SE didn't want to have the unfinished and unrefined graphic quality to be spreat broadly. This (and also spreading other still unfinished content) might lead to misunderstandings among non-FFXIV players concerning the quality level of the game that are hard to retract. :x
