    The attribute system in XIV was screwed beyond reason. Stat differences between races and classes only ever matters early on, never end-game when you're gearing yourself up.

    This is why they're going 1:1 (base:allocation) more so than anything.

    Please. I've yet to see this happen in any MMO with racial differences in stats/class affinities and yes they do exist as there's plenty MMOs out there not by the same 4 companies. In FFXI some of the best mages I've met and played with, especially SMN and WHM, were Galkas. They didn't want to change to Taru because tarus are "better mages." I didn't see Taru THFs swap to Mithra because they have better agi and dex. That situation is so hypothetical that it would never happen with logical players.

    Also XIV had racial and gender differences after an update when you made a new character, it was barely noticeable because stat differences in this game mattered far less than dlvl.
