It's not so bad as all that. Often I find that when people discuss or "argue" as you put it, at the end I see things in a different way than I did before. Like you'll be going back and forth and someone will state a perspective you personally hadn't though of, you know? It'll be a "well damn, they actually have a good point" kind of thing. On top of that I like seeing what other players feel even if I don't necessarily agree with them on it.

When it's constructive and not just arguing to make others annoyed or angry, I feel it definitely has a place. How boring it'd be to be on forums where we can't discuss the game we are playing with each other by using our own ideas. Not trying to be a snob, but it's kind of overly critical of people to walk in and tell others, "You discussing this is pointless because I don't see a point in it". Which is more insane?

Because there's always a person on this forum who chimes in saying they played WOW and got to max level in a week and beat all end-game in a month and always going on about how super easy it was.

I want to see proof of that accomplishment, and it's readily available. None of them have been able to provide it, strangely enough.

I guess that when I'm presented with obviously falsified or at least terribly skewn data as your example above, it just rolls off my back and isn't worth the time considering.

You should be well aware enough to know whats fact and fiction, and if there is a really out there claim people generally back it up if they have some real ground to stand on.

Seriously you wouldn't believe how easy it is level...

I went from 80 to 85 in two and a half days... that was including release day and the day after.. I didn't even play any longer than I normally did (and the release was 4 hours before I went to bed).

PimCarb, I understand what you're saying. A lot of people do. WoW didn't lose a million subscribers in one month for no reason.

We're going to have to wait out this round of MMORPGs. Even though it means not playing FFXIV, we'll at least have more time to do something productive until a game comes around that gets things right.

Even though I agree, I was the player who never got to experience anything unique or end game in WoW, but that didn't bother me because It meant getting to the end meant so much more.

There is no legendary anymore (in our current day MMORPGs - but I imagine that will be fixed in the future).

Part of the problem they where having is they needed people to actually run the dungeons (because it was old)..


Like in another thread I think dungeons and bosses should require parties but as it ages and players stop running it as often they should prepare a harder solo version* (after waiting in queue for X amount of time).

*We have NPC companions so its not really a solo and they can first go for half or 1/4 party requirement modified dungeon.

PS: In FFXIV I leveled my BLM to 50 in 7 casual days, and a friend and I powerleveled someone to 50 in 28 hours w/ breaks and bad powerleveling gear.

that is a very good video and sounds exactly what happened to me. My LS from ffxi quit so they all went to WoW or most of em at least. Got WotLK and just went on cruise control. What a waist of time that was.

A small exp loss would be cool just enough to instill a fear factor again. in xiv people have no fear at all "lvl 99 mobs ill just choco across if I get hit ill just use anima" = lame

Actually I would too.
Least then I wouldn't have to stop what I'm doing to go get it repaired. But I can live with it as it is.
