Mimique, you didn't like the old Limsa theme?
I'm sorry, we can't be friends anymore.

I never said that, fisher cat. I just think it was a bit too boisterous for a city theme.
Starlord, can you locate the source for that post? I have people on the FFXIV subreddit asking this very question.
Thanks!

this one? /10charIt seems like the entire soundtrack for FFXIV will just revolve around the below song:
I personally like this new direction.
Ok, ok, joking aside I did check with Yoshi-P and the sound team about the future direction of FFXIV's music. They will be blending the old tracks with new ones to create the soundtrack for version 2.0.
Additionally, in regards to day-time/night-time music transitions, they told me that they were working on variety of different plans and considering a couple things for the BGM which would focus on interactivity.
Hope you are as excited to hear some fresh beats as I am
Ugh...how did I miss that? Thanks! At the Very bottom of this page of this Very thread :P.

I was actually going to suggest having a day/night mashup earlier, but didn't think they'd actually do it. I stand corrected! With all the love for the old theme here, I don't think we'll be losing it just yet then!
Also, Twilight Over Thanalan might return for when.. well.. Twilight is over Thanalan, obviously. Having more than one track per area seems like a good idea.
