you have time in beta 1-2 seeing how NA,EU world would come out to beta 3Thanks. Think I should drop by the french forums every now and then too, I guess.
I kind of take that as both good and sad news, since I had hoped we'd at least have some time to see if if would be truly necessary to migrate to regional servers. Oh well... Personally, I find it kind of pointless still, but since everyone will be jumping ship in the end, I guess I'll have to do it eventually as well... :/![]()

Well, no matter what region I pick, I'll still be far from either server. I'm sure there must be a ton of other people that are left in the middle without knowing what to do about this move either. There's more to the world than Japan, Western Europe and North America, you know?
In this move to time-zone centric servers, we're the ones that are affected the most. Not only are we stuck with a smaller community that's truly active only during certain times of the day, but our latency also stays almost the same (not that it matters as much as people try to make it seem, but still). We stand to gain jack shit from this. People in the respective regions (and hopefully in the same country as well) will at least gain their precious 1/10th of a second. I'm sure it's going to make a gigantic deal of a difference.
I'm aware, but I highly doubt that will change anyone's mind. I mean, Alpha didn't, right?

i never felt the lag people had issue with in 1.0 only rare moments i live in FL with att. So i did pretty will in ifrit ex without getting hit by much only when i made a mistake myself.Well, no matter what region I pick, I'll still be far from either server. it's really a trade off if you go to NA worlds we may end up with lots of jerks from other mmo. Also the fact that SE have no control over the NA worlds and w/e company control it may take longer to fix issue. So it's up to people if they want little less lag and jerk players. I don't really mind i be going to w/e world my linkshell it best to be with good friends.

On the other hand, Zenaku, one I was the one recording our 18th defeat to Ifrit, and when I showed my friends they were surprised at how friggen far I was from the cracks when I got exploded by them.
Sadly lag is an actual issue sometimes
Yes i know what you mean i seen many people having that issue. Not saying i never got lag in ifrit before i'm just saying i did not have it happen to me as bad as others. I done lot's of runs without getting hit once most of the time it was my own mistake. But what i'm saying with the new servers/engine i don't see us having that bad lag that would mess us up if we are in a JP world.
I know i be going to w/e world my linkshell is going but you have to wonder. How good would the company be in NA at fixing issue. Also how bad would the player base be seeing how people from other mmo would be picking the NA worlds. Seeing how there worlds for starting players i hoping they end up going there tho.

On the contrary, I think it would be common sense to assume they would treat players from all regions equally rather than Japan > all other regions. Rather than make assumptions though, I'm gonna wait for an official dev post about how server migration is gonna go down.
I think it makes the most sense to play on a server closest to your time zone (and probably more importantly, a server that is active during the time you play in the case that you work an irregular shift), assuming the group of people you're currently playing with are going to move. Currently we all play on Japanese servers, but if the majority of NA players all take off for a NA regional server, it makes the most sense to move to one as well if you playing during the NA primetime hours.
