Then again, it took an above average PC to run FFXIV at a playable state, while developers claim that you could run ARR on a low end PC. I do believe overall the amount of PS3 players will be very high and console players are an audience that TESO cannot get.

Then again, TESO isn't really aiming for them, which kind of goes back to my different audience statement. I would honestly consider DC Universe Online a competitor to FFXIV more than TESO, but that is just my opinion. I think the games TESO will be competing against will be WoW and GW2.

If we are to talk about who started video game RPG's, Wizardry had a large hand in that one. Dragon Quest influenced from that, then Final Fantasy influenced from Dragon Quest. I can't say exactly where WRPG's molded from, because you don't really see much JRPG elements in one. D&D ultimately started RPG's as a whole, but the console game that set WRPG's off is a bit of a mystery to me, maybe Wizardry!
Well actually I think TESO is targeting console players, because keep in mind that the vast majority of TES fan are console gamers. I'd bet a very small part of the population actually played the PC version/mods. Therefore, I'd imagine most of the people cuirrently excited about TESO are those who experienced it originally on the console. So if Zenimax (or Bethesda since there apparently helping with the project) is able to provide quality controller support, it may indeed attract those millions of Xbox TES fans, especially since it's alot easier to get a decent gaming rig these days.
