Problem was you couldn't alt+tab out of full screen without crashing the game :/ That's all I had an issue with though.

And Wolfie I main a healer so maybe that's why I don't use it as much, but when I did tank in older xpacs I did use it however. Mainly for the ability timers. Never wanted to be caught off guard by something if my mind wandered

And I agree with you about the misconception. There is still a lot of player response needed, just some people don't pay attention even with all the bells and whistles going off. But that's what separates the good from the bad. Helps good players play more effectively, and bad players get found out lol

It was basically the lowest level of safety net that guilds could enforce because it was easy to install, use, and understand.

It aggregated clear warnings that the boss gave, like emotes and shouts, with timers that had to be thoroughly tested by the top raid guilds (reason why DBM warnings were always 1-3 weeks late after world first kills on bosses).

Functionally it's no different than having a raid lead yell at you over Skype/Mumble/Vent about what you should be doing or paying attention to. No amount of yelling or DBM warnings are going to move your character for you, and you are neither a worse player for following them, nor a better player for ignoring them.

Yeap I agree. The hard part is making people listen whether it is the addon or a person yelling at you.

If only people would just do that

If there was a DBM for FF what would it be called...EBB...Eorzea Battle Basics? XD terrible name :<

Hence why I played with the included windowed mode. If window borders were an issue, there are/were plenty of ways to hide them without a windower. Only time I'd see anything other than the game itself is when I alt-tabbed.

Either way, a windower in ARR is completely pointless with Fullscreen (Windowed) likely being a built-in option and tabbing out of fullscreen not crashing the game, outside of wanting to use plugins which SE has no control over other than temporarily breaking them in a patch.

XI: Shadowtaru (Alexander) Manifest (Shiva) Volnaru (Asura)
    1.0: Delirium Impulse (Mysidia Gungnir)
ARR: Dashe Herate (Sargatanas) Dashe Voln (Excalibur)

Btw I love your sig lol

Yeah when I was playin 14 full time I was full screen windowed. I was mainly referring to my old FFXI days and early 14. For me it doesn't matter either way now that I have a nexus pad so I don't need to alt tab anymore to look stuff up
