Someone should make a gathering add-on, it would include a small icon by the mini map, and when you click the icon, a window would open up with all the gathering materials you can gather in the game, and when you click one of the materials like say iron ore, it would show you a list of all the area's that iron ore can be gathered. This way if people need to find some gathering materials they can quickly see where to go to gather what they want, instead of going to the internet and searching for it.

I think this should be added with the codex idea. So once you've gathered a particular material it will be added to your codex and you can look it up at a later date to show you where it can be gathered. But you can't do this unless you've gathered it already, adding to the exploration.
