PSN: FFXIV World & Character Status APP

I don't know if I can explain this right to be understood, but something I would absolutely want would be an app for the PSN/PS Vita that allows you to view world server status, personal character status (in-game and lodestone achievments, etc.), and an integrated Lodestone/forum page.

Some MMO's offer mobile apps for phones that allow an individual to view their character info within a game. I believe Yoshi may have mentioned something like this after an earlier request several months ago.

I would like to spark some recent opinions on this matter if such an app would be worthwhile.

Personally, I would pay as much as $20 reasonably for the app.

It is possible to add apps to the ps3 but it works sorta different that a mobile device. I was mostly focused on a Vita app, additionally the browser on the PS3 is severely lacking as a true browser.

They do have various applications on ps3 mostly video ones. The web browser is really lacking though and often freezes. Probably won't get getting a good one on a Sony system till PS4.

Yes, they have YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, Photo Gallery, and more. Those are 'called' apps. It's pretty much like what you do with iPhone but few apps though.

Why don't you prove it that Yoshi-P has mentioned? If they smell enough people are willing to pay $20 for that app then why not? o_o;

I have my PS3 but I will not buy it even though I still use my laptop.

Have they said anything about markets or auction houses? FFXIVAH would be win, I always had shouts up on my ipad next to monitor when i was out of Jueno, never a dull moment.

Well I know that it came up (maybe during a live show?) and Yoshi made a comment, not that there was any plans of adding any kind of app at that time. I would try to look for it if I could remember it better when/where it was mentioned, but I'm... lazy?

And to add, I think the question brought to Yoshi was was about adding an AH app, which I quess was suggested because WoW has one? I know of at least AION has one which I used for a very brief time.

Back to the topic: I don't see the necessity to use app on your PS3 even if you wanna play FFXIV you just turn on the system and load up straight to the game instead of using that app. If you get enough supports then the dev team can see it and would do anything with it. It would cost them extra money to make one but for now let's worry about the gameplay first. ^^

Oh please don't misunderstand. Earlier I suggested the app for the PSN (PlayStation Network) which hosts apps for PS3 and PS Vita. It was my intention that the app would really only have benefit via mobile, meaning for the PS Vita; so you can check your FFXIV w/e on the go @ hotspots.

Of course, I'm biased here and asking for just a PSN version when I'm sure an iTunes app would be more profitable.
