Your camera angle is incorrect. The way you have it drawn is as if it's in first person. When you flip camera it just flips 180 degrees it doesn't go into first person view.

I actually never use a flip camera button. With all my experience raiding from WoW we normally would zoom all the way out so we can tell what is happening in the entire battle area and just turn with mouse when you need to run away.

I hope this video helps non pc gamers understand that it is not limited. I doubt SE will push this onto controller users because analog sticks are best to allow your character move in all directions.

Man, these games are getting to the point where I wonder whether it's a third person shooter/Hack 'n' slash or, you know, an MMORPG.

But anyway, that's kinda pretty and all, but... how is it any more efficient? Or heck, how in hell is it any more comfortable?

I actually can't stand to play FFXIV 1.0 with keyboard and mouse. I actually play with a controller because of this. For me backpedaling and strafing is a must to play with keyboard and mouse. You sort of get this in 1.0 when you lock onto target, however it's still weird because your movements become restricted and can't strafe in one direction. You end up rotating around the target and have to toggle off the lockon target to get out of it.
