Parivir is so fundamentally different from Sam, so they'd need to be different jobs.Is/was Parivir a job in another FF title? As most of us understand it that Jobs will only be FF tied Job titles. Taken from the whole Tactic series, FF3, FF11, FF12.
So Parivir would.....nvm just googles it. part of Tactics Adv. pt.2
...as you were.
I would accept being call Parivir instead of Samurai to stray away from FFXI even Yojimbo.
Ken-do, Bushido, or Ronin could easily make nice class names as well.
ya ken-do or bushido would work as class. but strange class namesAs i mentioned earlier Ronin IS samurai, but without a master/lord.
He was a Samurai?
I keed, I keed!
Hey... I saw concept art for it while looking at tactics adv 2 art. As long as I see a great katana in some way shape or form, being held by a job, I will always think samurai. Whether he/she be master-less a lone wolf, brought shame...etc. I know samurai is a way of life, but for right now... Great katanas=Samurai..
We don't know the official name that a great katana wielder will have. Also, Yoshi drop the name samurai... so I will stick with that wording until we are told different.

"You cannot simultaneously prevent and prepare for war."
I'm liking revision #5 over the others. Nice work.
I would prefer Time Mage attached to Thaumaturge. They could do some fun things with the lore.
Aye and he dropped it in responce to a question asking who would get Ninja and Samurai's relic katanas if i remember correctly. I really can't imagine Samurai performing Lancer weaponskills with a Great Katana... and going by the current class > Job format it would be very odd for Samurai to have a completely different weaponskill set to Lancer. Not to say i hate the idea of a pole arm weilding Samurai but it would really be straying off FF Samurai's roots as a Great Katana Job in a game supposedly all about fan service.Hey... Fan service.. Give us tactics job system :P lolAye and he dropped it in responce to a question asking who would get Ninja and Samurai's relic katanas if i remember correctly. Been lurking - you guys are coming up with some cool relationships between classes. Though I still fear that using two per one (or using "addendum jobs") is decreasing individuality and total potential of a job.
Samurai being able to use a polearm makes sense (and bow) - samurai not being able to use Katana .. you are right no sense - the wrath of fans would ensue lol.
Parivir, Ronin and Samurai are all really related - if this is a 1to1 (1class for 1job) I think you could use Parivir/R to Samurai, but I dont see Parivir/R mixing well with another job.
Really.. SE FFT.. FFT.. lol You can still keep classes and job structure - only difference is the "addendum part" so that a job is its own (someone said addendum once to describe the current system, I'm keeping it)
The way i could see Green Mage working off Conjurer is for it to focus on nature spells rather than like in Tactics A2 wasting its Magic attack stat on solely buff and debuff spells. So like how White Mage focuses in on Conjurer's curatives spells and defensives buffs to be a healer. Green Mage could focus on the natural elements Earth Air and Water spells both for dealing damage and for buff/debuffing(Stoneskin!!!!). Scholar is where it should be =P Scholar's like books Arcanist uses a book therefore they belong to one another.
Mmhmmm i can see that, like Lancer Marauder Archer etc over replace Squire and Chemist to build the prerequisites for Jobs in a FFT esque system. I want to see what SE come up with in Beta but i hope to see some changes to the system. If we still have a mostly the same system as 1.0 i pray to Louisoix that atleast the range of viable actions you can borrow from other classes will have increased so there can be some situational boons.Fan service.. I'm actually okay with the 5th current one o___O that list actually sounds cool~
"Thy life is a river to bear rapture and sorrow
To listen to suffer to entrust until tomorrow
In one fleeting moment, from the land doth life flow
Yet in one fleeting moment for the new leaf doth grow"
it hasn't, it's more restrictedMmhmmm i can see that, like Lancer Marauder Archer etc over replace Squire and Chemist to build the prerequisites for Jobs in a FFT esque system.
