I do agree with this, If there was an in game solution both PS3 and PC players could participate in voicechat!
But there may be a limitation with PS3's network if they allow voicechat outside of their network. Which is probably is the main reason that is stopping PC and PS3 players form being in voicechat!
However, I plan on using skype/TEamspeak/Ventrilo/Mumble from an App on my phone to talk to my team if I choose to play on the PS3 so that I stay in communication if necessary. Where there is a will there is always a way!

I was reading about it and it appears that even the games that try to implement their own voice chat have issues because of how the PS3 itself is built.. Anyone know of an effective voice chat from a game for the ps3?I do agree with this, If there was an in game solution both PS3 and PC players could participate in voicechat!

It might just be impossible lol. I wonder if there is some way SE could set up the ability for PS3 users to login to Vent/TS/Skype/Mumble but not send anything - perhaps only one direction could make it more feasible..
They'd have to make some weird account service creator at home base to get into those PC apps though, unless there is some API / coworking with each company (I think, I've never networked more then a lan game.. which is nothing pretty much .. lol). Maybe they can create an API to send voice data to ps3 players and let players make their own plugins like for Mumble.
I dont know but I hope they explore at least the bare minimum - listening to other players.
I'd hate to see PS3 players not get into parties because they cant listen to the raid leader (in my experience "listen or gtfo" happens frequently (sometimes "mic")).
:O - Is it good quality? If SE could get the game to grab and send data to one of the 3d party applications available to PC users that could be a good compromise.. "Have it if you need it, otherwise its invisible".

The quality is OK. but not great. The best experience I have had is in Ventrilo and Teamspeak comes a close second. There is a new one I tried a year ago called C3. http://www.downloadc3.com/communicate/ It was unique because you could link copy a web link and past it in chat for people to join and download the web client automatically. They would literally be in your chat room in less that 30 seconds after clicking the link!I was reading about it and it appears that even the games that try to implement their own voice chat have issues because of how the PS3 itself is built.. Either way there is not an all around elegant solution for in game voicechat with console players. The companies network always causes issues. They close their ports for security, but ports have to be opened up to do voicechat. PSN will do it for their built in one, but that doesn't do any good for PC players.
