It's really sad and telling that this thread has 114 views and sparse replies while something about chocobos, the fifth one in a week, gets 50 immediate "this is how it should be" posts and 2000 views. There's really not a whole lot of players critically thinking about the upper tier importances in the game. A lot of drones, not a lot of queens. Everyone just wants their brand of chocobo to be listened to.

Botting in XIV is a bigger issue than any of these hundred post threads combined. They're driving the overproduction that is DEFINING how generic the game is. The botters are hoarding gil amounts that will completely destroy the economy the second something actually valuable comes out.

The solution cannot be to never release anything valuable, which is the only thing that's saved the game thus far from them.

The botters know the code better than the developers do, if the GM investigated that case and their response was "no action required."

    1. There is no economy, theres no reason to buy anything other than a 40+ set.

    2. They dont affect you in anyway at all, infact they reduce price vastly on everything due to the new market windows. If it wasnt for bots Shards be still 250-300 lol.

    3. You can earn just as much gil as bots do from level 1, then stock up on that gil as its useless.

    4. Wtf is "the botters know the code better than devs", you even know how a bot works? i dont even understand what you're trying to say here lol.

Most bots aint even RMT they're buddy key players who doing it for personal gain.

Are you trying to defend this practice? I think no matter how lousy a game is, cheating is cheating. They clicked on the same user agreement we all did. Those lower costs on shards are going to stay with shards, most of my time ingame is devoted to crafting and supplying for the market, we are just as important to this game's community.

I'm not defending it, I'm just not a jealous type of person who has to give a crap what other people do. They can bot all they want, i could care less because it doesn't affect me. Dont get what you ment by the whole shard thing.

Just remember the next time you go buy shards, you are most likely feeding a botted crafter lol. And if suddenly shards went to 250-300 people be like WTF!!!! So I'm benefiting from people botting as I get cheap shardz.

I haven't noticed any multi botters around, but on Lindblum I've become suspicious of a couple of Lalafells in Limsa that sit around and craft all day. They don't seem to be botting in particular, unless they have specifics on their program running. They'll spam Hasty Hands for shards, if that fails then they normally try to finish their synth. Checking them, level 21 alchemists with all and only starting gear equipped. Lodestone pages show them with no physical level points distributed.

on Selbina server there is the same type of bot in mines and about 40 toons all in lvl 1 gear at the horizon camp spamming leves all w/ the same Sir name Sel. Has been reported rumerous times and they fail to do a damn thing about it. Frickin F2P games have better dealings w/ RMT than SE.
