Alpha was for stress testing purposes only... Wish I could expand upon things more but I can't.

People need to quit acting like questing is the only thing to do in FF14. MMO's are no longer going to be like the one's from day's of old.. Though I wish they were.. Kids today don't want to take 6 months - a year to level one job to level cap.

    EVERYTHING
in ARR will give exp in one way or another.. What does it matter if it's from quests, FATE, dungeons, solo mobs, etc.?

People will do multiple things in this game to pass the time. Changes will be made if there's enough backlash from the community about it.

Vanilla questing isn't going to change, the reason being is that it's become the current "standard" for today's MMO's. You need to complement today's version of questing with other content so people have a variety of content to do once the questing becomes stale. FATE's, Behest, PVP, Crystal Tower, Great Labyrinth of Bahamut, roaming primals, dungeons, crafting, chocobo raising, gathering, housing, story quests, etc. All of these things will be in place to complement vanilla questing.

The MMO's that use the new vanilla questing as a standard usually fail because they have nothing in place to complement the questing. The dev team understands this, which is why an abundance of content will be available at launch.

If anyone doesn't like an aspect of game-play, they need to voice their opinion about it on the beta forums when they open. Feedback is taken seriously by the dev. team during testing.
