Since ppl are so scared of the party grind I kinda hope its the best way to lvl up. There are tons of excuses from ppl its actually kinda funny how just because you had crap luck you dont want certain things in this game. If you really want to make this into casual easy mode you can just say that instead ,quit beating around the bush. Candyland is what you want go buy that. I'm pretty sure i'm not the only one that wants a challenging game.

OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD letting a F-ing WAR steel cyclone for your half afk ass to exp for a few hours is as face-to-desk-easy as it gets whats so hardcore about that? the hardest part about it was finding a camp Its YOU who wants it in silver-plate-easy and don't want to do the slightest effort to follow quest instructions ,finding the correct place and learn the story behind it

lol warrior was the worst class in ffxi, it was the easiest to use, you can afk with it. but this is a problem with classes and the system they use for fighting and not the grinding. for say rdm like i mentioned above already, every monster had something you had to do to it, silence it or it -ga nukes the whole party and you can't keep up in heals like weapons in moon zone lol. keeping up with multiple refreshes and buffs, dispelling stoneskins and other things. if they add something liek this to every class you just doubled everyones entertainment. if monsters picks up the tank with one of it's hands and warrior had to hit that hand to put him down b4 he dies ...then it can add more fun to it. what have you. but that is the whole point of dynamic mobs vs boring wow type mobs ..or fun classes or boring ones like warrior.

also i don't think he is talking about "hardcore" in any sense you and others keep trying to throw in peoples faces. it's simple your way of mmo'ing and his. that simple. he wants a mmo he will enjoy and you keep getting mmo's made for you. casual/solo. that is all there is too that. and i have been saying this alot lately but every mmo that thinks they can push away from forced party, making mobs dynamic instead of just pumping out millions of copy paste quests, and stop with the solo crap, they will keep failing on making a mmo that survives a year.

when the people who live mmo leave, so do the casuals. they make mmo's live and flourish. we make events, we make parties, we support the game. we don't play and quit like it is a throw away game. and as long as mmo's are made for the simpleton then the majority will leave right away. they are tired of these mmo's, they are not getting used to them and saying ohh well that is what a mmo is now, heck no. they leave. and in my case i leave even faster then the last mmo. and this wasn't directed at you but an additional rant. sorry lol. /end rant.

I am talking about FFXIV's steel cyclone >_> but anyways..
What's funny same people craving for boring mob grinding are the same that keep bashing FFXI's abyssea and that was all about alliance grinding. F@ck logic

But no I'll have lots of fun with quests ..you guys can grind all you want and later on i'll answer all the peasant's questions about lore

I did the quests that I needed to do. That pretty much means i did the fun ones that needed alliances and parties to complete and to get through the main story line which was awesome.

The first three things im personally looking for in ARR is:
1 Goals- i want to see ppl set goals to work towards something be it short or long term.
2 Progression- everything from leveling, to clearing content, to getting gear, etc etc all starts from a beginning and builds up to an end result.
3 Time- which basically boils down to how long it will take to achieve your goals you set from all your progress you make.

In 1.0 we did have this were players set goals, progressed to them and the amount of time it actually took to do it all. In ARR i really want to see what we had in XI when ppl set goals to clear certain content, getting pieces of gear, getting spells, building their character, etc etc then progressing to them and finally how long did it take to do it all having the feeling of achievement and accomplishing something in the end.

Its pretty clear even in 1.0 that it was laughable how so called "long" it took to get relics, max level, content cleared etc etc compared to XI. But to get back on topic ARR leveling speed needs to be considerably longer then it was in 1.0 simple fact, which we all pretty much know why it needs to be like that for the game to last like everyone wants. It doesn't matter which system SE will use in ARR each one of them is bad to just have as a primary source of leveling. Each one of them be it FATE, solo quest, leves, dungeons, mob grind parties, etc etc has pro's & con's for the short and long term for ARR.

First we need to just stop with all this talk about if ARR doesn't have mob grind parties as primary source of leveling that 14 will fail. Same goes for solo quest, leves, dungeons, etc not a single one of them is good to have as the only main source to leveling up. Times have changed whether we like it or not the only thing we can do is try to have a good game and if this means using the new ways to leveling also so be it but lets hope they don't trash the old ways too. We can have a balance between them all, us asking SE to have multiple ways to leveling is our best bet rather then complaining that not using old ways equals automatic failure. If ARR has many ways to leveling up which all are on par with each other so basically at the end of the day it comes down to personal preference for which type of leveling players prefer, so be it.

I do like the comment that was said in this thread or another like it when the person stated: it doesn't matter which leveling system SE will use one, a few, or all of them players will find a way to exploit the game or the community will set a so called standard and will stick with that and if you don't follow/conform you are a noob!

PS: a side note i would love if classes and jobs leveled separately if jobs once unlocked started at 30 or even 1 would be great but that's another topic in itself, and me personally this would give us old players the time sink we are looking for.
