    I'm not sure why everyone seems to be picking on Tera. Lord of the Rings Online is notorious for quest grind. It isn't a quest if you are doing it every 20 minutes. As others have pointed out, you need variety with balance.

    FF14 has Leve quests, they have open world mob grinding, though it needs an exper buff. If I did a craft recipe 2 levels above me in FF14 I could pull 2000 exper out of it. It just didn't translate in the combat leveling. They have the variety, they just didn't balance or polish it.

    It's because it's the recent incarnation of a "failed p2p MMO that went f2p", and many people are testing it atm while waiting for ARR.
