The problem isn't limited to the 690. It was the entire 600x series from what i've heard and know through the grape vine.

So it could be the drivers for the 600-series that messed up the gfx and fps in ARR?
Cause I had a lot of GFX bugs in ARR that trees, bridges, rocks etc would not be visible, but after installing new drivers, those issues went away
Anyway, I have faith in Yoshida and his team that I can use my 690 to its full advantage in Live ARR at least xD

They still however look like 2 Cards to the system. XFire/SLI is just done internally.
It will be treated as a single by the game tho. SLI/XFire is specifically bridging two cards together and running them from two or more PCI-E slots. Unless games treat your card as an SLI/Xfire setup, its just one card to them.

Tho I may be wrong... doesnt seem like one card, 2 gpu or 1 should be treated like an SLI/XFire setup.

2 GPUs on one card uses SLI/CrossFireX to link them.

Notice that Nvidia call two GTX 690 Quad SLI.
    NVIDIA Quad SLI® Technology3
Used by the most demanding gamers worldwide, Quad SLI lets you link up to two GeForce GTX 690s together for astounding performance. And with NVIDIA’s track record for fast and frequent software updates, you’ll not only get the best performance in existing games, but future games too.

Interesting. I suppose I should be glad I stayed away from dual GPU cards if SLI/Crossfire cant be disabled on them.

You can disable SLI from the control panel. I don't like SLI/CrossfireX because of micro stuttering and only really works in full screen. I do think SLI/CrossfireX very good for multiple displays. I use a GTX 680 now.

I too usually stay clear of SLI setups. I just overlooked that the 690 was a SLI on the card itself. I just wanted the baddest card I could get my hands on as I wanted to play ARR on the absolute highest settings. And I have spend a lot of money upgrading everything in my PC so far xDDD

But again, I do have faith that in the Live version at least that I will be able to play without any SLI issues.
Otherwise this 690 purchase is a lot of money wasted if I would have been much better off with a single 680 instead xD
