That is why i said to not make it much of a "guide" but more like a themepark magazine that each page you see you go "Woah!"Funny, when I buy any game I really never feel the necessity of buying a guide book because I can always check out the internet what to do. It would be a good idea for PC users who want to play it with full-screen. You see how you played in 1.0 without a guide book because quest logs tell you what to do.

Or people will get it done without the guide just fine. Or anything from the web for that matter. My opinion is that if you NEED the guide to get around and do things, then you're likely not playing the right game
Yep. For example me and my group did CoP without any guides since non existed at the time. All info has to come from somewhere and that's usually people that figure out stuff for themselves and decide to pass along the info.

I just hope that the game succeeds enough that people take the time to make a detailed wiki website like XI's wiki or the old zam site and even ffxi somepage (if anybody remember that one) where everything is listed about every game aspect, including equipment guides and even trivia about item and monster names etc
It was so much fun looking up a BCNM battle and read that the monsters in it were named after the main characters of the TV show Charmed and such.

People loved to buy guidebooks for collection purpose, they comes with pretty cover usually, a very nicely page layout, and bonuses like map. I have tons of guidebooks i never read, i just have them for the exclusive arts, behind the scene, bonuses that comes with them.

Strategy guides are kinda a waste of money without some sort of bonus stuff you just don't get with the internet.
Like, ~cloth maps~

Honestly though, the idea of having a physical reference book is novel to me (tee hee), but it just doesn't really work for MMOs or games that self-update often. It'd be neat having a sort of PDF-based guide for smartphones though. That'd be handy.
I still remember how much fun we had picking apart the Brady Guide for XI. How wrong it was, was hilarious.
