Thoughts on the Colosseum and PvP

Spectator mode can really help when you're waiting for your entry(or your bet) in the next match.

There are so many interesting ideas for this. I just hope at the very least they have some kind of tournament setup for it. A spectator mode would be awesome too but might need far too much in terms of resources to be doable. I could see Chocobo battles in this as well. Lots of fun possibilities come to mind. As usual I can't wait to see what they come up with.

Thats a good point, I didn't realize people can bet using spectator mode. I doubt SE will support any official betting though and it will really be on good morals to actually get the loser of the bet to do the trade...

It's more my own speculation than anything. I haven't heard anything on how the coliseum works or if betting will be involved. If it is, there will be quite some work to make sure it isn't exploited. (players taking a dive, rigged matches, players making their own unofficial betting areas. etc.)

Exactly thats why I'm said SE will likely not support it and it will be on the good will of loser of the bet to actually pay off. For that reason alone, I doubt betting will be very popular...

yeah with a rare item for house or piece of gear for the winner ^.^ make them a one time get so more people can try for it and maybe hold one once a month (rl time) with side battles to earn your way in

I see you guys want to be able to spectate events such as raids! While we are currently looking into making this possible for coliseum events, so those that are not brawling can watch on and cheer, we do not have any plans to introduce this for battle content such as raids. The main reason is that we believe some players do not want to be watched by others as they play, and also there is possibility that unwanted videos or screenshots crop up.

PvP can stay out of this game for all I care. It's already served to dumb down the combat system and the game isn't even out. Just wait for all that "balancing" goodness in the future!
