Are people recognizing ARR?

i'm also afraid most sources will treat ARR like an add-on unless SE calls it Final Fantasy XV.

It was stated on the original road-map that the PR Campaign would begin for FFXIV:ARR around the Alpha/Beta Phase onwards.
The live broadcast on Nico Nico, Youtube Trailers and tid-bits of news from the Alpha was the begining of that PR Campagin.

Until the 3rd/4th Phase of the BETA I wouldn't except them to start a major hype train until they are sure they can give a loose release date.

When FFXIV:ARR is brushed up and the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) has been lifted THATS when things will kick off. Nothing works better than word of mouth!

Actually, after doing just a little bit of googling, it's already working by the looks of it.

Simply type in Final Fantasy and hit "News" almost all of it is about FFXIV:ARR and on some popular sites including: "All Games Beta, Kotaku, Playstation Lifestyle, Examiner, Joystiq, Gamers Hell" all announcing the BETA and latest trailer.

i dont think its possible to change the name, cause you can play any FF game from 1 up to now, XIV version wouldent exist then ,well have a "well.. wheres #14?" type situation

hmm you're right.

maybe it would have been better to call it XIV-2 then, since people are used already to stand-alone spinoffs like X-2 and XIII-2
