I feel the same... I have no idea what will affect us..

*IF* ._. my "real life" friends are still enjoying it whether they have time to do so or not I will be fine. However, one of them is worrying if that game is still "endless" to him his life then he wouldn't want to play it. And he is a huge fan of Final Fantasy series.

I want to stay on Ragnarok and I hope most of my friends stay there but it's hard to tell what will happen. For example, will Ragnarok, as the designated European server for 1.xx, be located in Europe for ARR?

I am not worried about latency as much as the people I want to play with moving and servers only having significant amounts of players online at certain times.

As I'm not expecting an Australian server, I'm going to have to test the ping on any regional servers before thinking about which I want to play on. And THEN there is the issue of possibly leaving friends behind.

Yeah if you are an oceanic you more than likely have friends from all three datacenters, what are we gonna do?

I will most likely stay on my server unless it becomes a ghosttown for people living in EU.

Will you transfer to your region's server? Personally I won't, since Yoshida did say, himself, that if there is an issue with a server in Japan they can fix it rather quickly since SE will be under control of those servers. However, the servers overseas aren't a part of SE at all so it could mean longer server maintenance and a longer time for repairs for if the servers fails. It also stops me from getting rusty on my Japanese, although I guess I don't have to worry so much about that because there is 2ch and nico nico douga...

You say "now that we know" as if this is a new discovery. We've know this for several months now...

Odds are I will transfer- in part because I expect my closer friends to do so as well, but also in part because I will probably do a lot of PvP, where latency is a more significant issue.

There is that, but there is also the latency to consider... will we get a better result from a JP or NA server in Australia/NZ/Indonesia?

I can't wait to relearn the game and go for my SMN relic just to see the difference in X-Ifrit's cracks XD

If I'm no prompted at my "character creation" adjustments to my current character, and they instead just let me drop to Durandal, then I'll simply do nothing.

Chances are, this isn't going to have as dramatic a population impact as many people think. Many people will flock to the regional server in their area for the best Ping for dungeons, bosses, etc.

Many of us simply don't care.
