I really hope the latency will be good enough for the 1.x playerbase so everyone will decide to stick together on the servers. I don't wanna go through another community split :/

I be in a international server, or unless they are all international. I cant wait to see the servers.

If it makes you feel better there were little reports of lag during the alpha from what I was told.

Edited my original post for clarity;
I was more so asking if this is going to be available rather than requesting it be.
Just as the regional servers will passively segregate the community based on location, US-EAST and US-WEST servers will as well, and I was wondering if that is their intention, or if they plan to have only one data center for all of the NA region.

I also wanted to say that I'm not somebody who requested regional servers. I'm not somebody who thought all the lag stemmed from location of servers.Separating the US from the world.
Separating the US/West from US/East.
People think it'll be better for the game for some reason, thinking it'll clear up lag even though SE says the lag wasn't caused by geographical location since even Japanese players had extreme lag with 1.0.
I played FFXI and was perfectly happy with the latency I got during my 8 years of play. The question I asked was a request to know the plans of the team since data centers ARE happening and will be done, even before the game launches (some time during phase 2 or 3? I forget).
I just wanted to know so I can make plans with people whom I have grown close to in game can plan accordingly when some of us might have to face the choice of "Do I pick the closer data center here on the East/West coast? Or do I follow my friends to the data center on the other side of the country?" if it comes down to coastal service.

the servers are more than likely going to be hosted on the west coast, east coasters might be more inclined to play on the European servers, as my ping form Florida to Great Britain is about 5-10ms faster than to California.

As an Oceanic player joining a US server with US friends, I'd hope that all of the servers are on the west coast. My pingtime is horrible to the east coast
5-10ms won't make any difference in an MMO like this, I think. And the Euro servers are going to have a relatively smaller EN playerbase due to that region supporting DE and FR players as well. I wonder if they'd split servers by language...the populations would be tiny.
