FF XII opening (before you choose "new game")

A montage opening if you ask me.
FF XII opening (before you choose "new game")7-13 had perfectly reasonable openings and it didnt tell us about the rest of the story.
3-4 remakes had montage openings, so not really typical of FF at all
how does behemoth-crystal tower-odin relate to one another, i suspect they dont.
I get feel that im watching a trailer rather than an opening, its all cuts.

In the words of Goldmember: "Well then, there is no pleaszing you"
Alot of straw men in that text.Well, since we are arguing semantics. a) The original japanese says this is an "opening movie". Any good opening movie to a game should give you a taste, a "tease" if you will, of what you're going to be playing. b) What good is an opening movie to a game that shows you nothing? Conversely, what good is an opening movie that shows you the entire storyline of the game without having you play it? c) If you're looking for a trailer that shows more, it'll probably happen during E3 or something, when they are able to reveal stuff. d) There's no rule that says that an opening movie should give narrative. Think back to FF7 or 8. (or 5 or 6. I think the only ff "opening movie" that had a narrative were the NES ones that had white words on a blue screen.) How was that opening movie any more or less narrative than this one? An opener is an invitation to come in, not the intro to a book.
Also, in the entertainment industry, a teaser is a short clip of "See this shiny? Now look at that shiny! Isn't that awesome? But not as awesome this shiny! Want more? Nope, no more. Gotta wait. " The trailer is the one that goes <insert movie trailer voice> "In a world, where adventurer's are sent back in time... Where magic and courage are your only weapons... against a world of mystery... danger... and adventure. 5 brave souls, sent back in time, have the courage to face the new world and the beyond. See courage of the ages... bonds that last through time... and through it all, the beauty of a realm reborn. The <insert industry critic here> calls it <insert review blurb here> and 'breathtaking'. This summer, steel your swords, form friendships, and prepare for... Final Fantasy: A realm reborn."
So, again, no, a teaser just teases. An opener is usually closer to a teaser. A trailer explains what is coming up, and hence, needs a narrative.
See, this is a teaser:

See? No "this is loki, he's going to destroy the world. And Avengers are going to stop them." Just "look shiny! More shiny!"
See, this is a trailer

Narrative, world in danger. Outline of a plot and the protagonist. Gives you an idea of what the entire thing is about.
Sorry for the long post. But if we're going to argue semantics, we might as well get the facts straight.
didnt know my posts were worth so much of your time.
I dont like. its presented to be a trailer not an opener.
read back to page 12 i already posted both openers to highlight my pointFF XII opening (before you choose "new game")

Already countered this. No way his hair can be a value that dark, even in poor lighting conditions. His shirt doesn't suffer such dramatic value changes, and there is enough light in that room for his hair to still cast shadows onto his forehead... so ya...its definitely brown now ~_~
