    I think the pets will be part of the new housing system.

    As far as the Kabuto, I don't know how they will implement it. Having a new-years event in beta stage 3 or 4 (when stuff actually starts getting saved) is a bit late.

    It could be that the Benchmark gets released on Jan 7th, and obtaining the Kabuto is related to it somehow.

    Kabuto might be just a give away from a NPC when game launches and the 7th will be benchmark , the tiny ghost guy is wearing behemoth hat instead of the snake one tho i wonder why
