Only downside is now I need the more expensive version so I can play on the go e.e (AT&T ftl)

If anything, I am betting they were merely stating that there would be some features (chocobo raising, gardening, etc.) that you could play on the Vita. the same features which will be available on phone apps.

So it looks like Open Beta actualy is going to be a soft 'headstart' launch. According to what I read on the review site, they aren't scrapping any progression after Phase 3 Closed Beta? So I'd assume Phase 3 Closed Beta would have to be huge and a pretty big deal since they plan to be ready by the end of it. I wonder what's the point of even calling it Open Beta after that? Mayb they plan to use it like their "Oshyt!" button.. Still, soooo many beta phases.. must.. maintain.. interest...
