Besides, I think FFXIV will have a lot of features in it that will differentiate it enough from other MMOs and liken it enough to other Final Fantasy titles. So many people want it to be FFXI-2 and the complete opposite of what WoW is that they don't seem to be looking at what it is offering as it is. To me, it's looking to be a fine mix of both of the finest things about both WoW and FFXI, with enough of it's own features to make it a tried and true Final Fantasy title. And imo, that's not a bad thing.
As for ESO and PSO2, I have to say I look forward to trying one of them while not really giving a rat's patoot about the other. If ESO is truly like the online versin of Skyrim and Oblivion mixed together without all the annoying friggin bugs that came with both, I'm intrigued. However, the story and direction the game seems to be heading doesn't intrigue me as much as that of FFXIV, so whether I like the game or not, FFXIV will be my main MMO of choice. As for PSO2, don't care. Not one bit. I hated the first PSO. I found it boring, uninteresting as far as story or the epic feel of the world it displayed, and a waste of money I could have spent buying Jet Set Radio. (Luckily I rectified that mistake later) PSO looks to me more of the same. No offense to anyone who likes it, it's just not my cup of tea.
TL;DR version - FFXIV is mixing elements of past MMOs with a lot of elements of past Final Fantasys and making a new title worthy of the FF franchise imo. ESO, while looking cool, just doesn't interest me as much as FFXIV does. PSO2 can take a flying leap into hades as far as I'm concerned. If you want to play the other MMOs, go ahead. Have fun. I, on the other hand, and sticking around here.
