    2013 a year of MMO

2013 comes with a great variety of MMO.
What will be the futur for ARR with this competition ahead. As the game going for a more WoW like game, ARR is already a "not so sure about it" for me.I never enjoy how WoW was played. After playing few weeks of WoW and SW:TOR i can tell that i'am not in love with the way those game are play. It's turn really long, boring and make me falling asleep. And here, im only talking about the combat mechanics and repittive quest who counts a lot for me if a game is enjoyable or not.ARR will have to bring lots of VERY good content to the game if they want to keep me in the game.

So here 2 of the upcoming titles who are interesting for me in 2013.

    1-Phantasy Star Online 2
Although if not considered a MMO by fans, but as a Hack / Slash Action RPG online game PSO2 could bring me great satisfaction and pleasure. The system of sociability of PSO has always been unique and brings a lot of funny and good story.Additionally, the game will be available in F2P.Only negative, Sega have too often demonstrated little interest to the NA and EU community.Content is still often to slow to arrive and the eventsare poor compared to JP.SEGA said they want to stay up to date with content compared to JP for NA/EU, but their past history leaves me perplexe and scared.NO matter what, PSO has always been up to bring a wave of emotion and intense action that does not leave us on our hunger.

    2-The Elder Scroll Online
One words come to my mind with this game:Finaly!
After long year saying that TES series would never jump online, Bethesda changed its tune.I'm a big fan of the series since Morrowind and I am very exited by the coming of ESO.All content at first sight seems very rich (even PvP,me who is not fans of PvP think it look good). To live an adventure with my friends in the universe of Tamriel comes to pick me up.To spend time in the province such as Morrowind and Oblivion and to discover other unknown region of Tamriel could be rich in emotion and sens of adventure when you'r fan of TES.My concern is "Skyrim".The game content was so poor, the quests so boring and too repetitive for a game like TES.The number of bug was bad and make the last experience in TES really unpleasant.I keep a certain reserve and fear based as it is their first experience in the field of MMO.But i will for sure put my feet on the Tamriel World to look if the game is good.

Both titles are still now much more attractive than ARR for me and are only 2 titles from the upcoming MMO for 2013.With a long and distant history of beautiful memories and mostly fun, im trully attracted to those games. If FFXIV: ARR was moving towards a game that look like FFXI, I think my heart
would have been much torn right now.But Yoshi chose a system like WoW. After much effort put in Version 1.0 I'll give a chance to ARR to convince me the game deserves my time and especially my money.I have spent to many time ,im huge fans of FF and got lots of fun in FFXIV 1.0 to leave the game w/o giving him a fair chances. But The march will be high with these two other possibility. My actual opinion can only be based on video and with my gaming experience i know it can only count for small %. It's only by tryin and playing those game that i will be able to make my own decision.

    To be continued in 2013.
Merry christmas and Happy new year to all of the Eorzan ^^

P.S: Thanks for your understanding that my grammar isnt good. Im not English and put lots of effort to make my post the more understandable.

First practice your grammar. Second there was a thread just like this in 2010, and 2011. Honestly this game survived the release of GW2, swtor, WoW, tera, etc etc. Especially since I would say last year was FFXIV darkest days. The past year the game started to shape up, and now with ARR its starting to come really alive. So the game will be fine, especially since this game has a lot of die hard fans (we need them). Also with the recent patches and ARR you can even see the pride/joy in the dev's...there you know this game will be perfectly fine.

Thanks for your comment about my grammar.
The game have survived only because we are trully dedicated to Final fantasy and because of the hope of a new begining with ARR.I agree with you that the last content on 1.0 was not so bad and i trully enjoy my time in FFXIV 1.0. But like i sayd, im not in love with WoW like system. So even if im trully dedicated to Final, i wont see the point of playing if one of those 2 upcoming titiles bring me more satisfaction. Since ARR will be a complet new game it will deserve the exact same chances as any New game coming out that catch my attention. In first place im a gamers who's looking to have fun, not a "one and only singles title freak".Im open mind to anything that might bring me the fun, im looking for.

And it wont be the excitement pride/joy of the Dev's remodling the game that will make me like it. It will be the moment i'll play ARR that will make me say if i like it or not.Same for the 2 other titles.

Well, to each their own. Some people like the direction the devs are going with FFXIV, some don't. I, personally, think it's a marvelous direction. It offers options for more variety n choices as far as content. So what if it's system is similar to what WoW has done. As long as it works, who really cares? Besides, I think FFXIV will have a lot of features in it that will differentiate it enough from other MMOs and liken it enough to other Final Fantasy titles. So many people want it to be FFXI-2 and the complete opposite of what WoW is that they don't seem to be looking at what it is offering as it is. To me, it's looking to be a fine mix of both of the finest things about both WoW and FFXI, with enough of it's own features to make it a tried and true Final Fantasy title. And imo, that's not a bad thing.

As for ESO and PSO2, I have to say I look forward to trying one of them while not really giving a rat's patoot about the other. If ESO is truly like the online versin of Skyrim and Oblivion mixed together without all the annoying friggin bugs that came with both, I'm intrigued. However, the story and direction the game seems to be heading doesn't intrigue me as much as that of FFXIV, so whether I like the game or not, FFXIV will be my main MMO of choice. As for PSO2, don't care. Not one bit. I hated the first PSO. I found it boring, uninteresting as far as story or the epic feel of the world it displayed, and a waste of money I could have spent buying Jet Set Radio. (Luckily I rectified that mistake later) PSO looks to me more of the same. No offense to anyone who likes it, it's just not my cup of tea.

TL;DR version - FFXIV is mixing elements of past MMOs with a lot of elements of past Final Fantasys and making a new title worthy of the FF franchise imo. ESO, while looking cool, just doesn't interest me as much as FFXIV does. PSO2 can take a flying leap into hades as far as I'm concerned. If you want to play the other MMOs, go ahead. Have fun. I, on the other hand, and sticking around here.

Wow thanks, finally a good, mature and brillant reply ^^

Lol you,r having a point on the story line in PSO. Its absolutly not good. The game is more based on doing raid over and over than story line. In PSU the story was much better then PSo but still, its lackin and doesnt bring much intrest. And For ESO, honestly this game is just a big "?" for me lol. I have enjoy all of TES game but Skyrim. So ill give the game a try and see how Bethesda handle Online game

Actually, it has no more attractive MMOs than other years. Every year has a few. This one won't be different.

That's pretty much what my plan is as far as ESO. Granted, it looks GORGEOUS. The landscapes are mouth-wateringly pretty, like they've been designed for a single player game. And the monsters look pretty cool. As far as the rest, well I'll just have to see if I enjoy it as much as I enjoy looking at the scenery. To be honest, Skyrim is the only ES game I'd reccomend at this point, lol. (though Oblivion is okay) I guess we're of different minds.

when they announced the elder scrolls online i was VERY excited. but now that i've seen their promo videos- it looks like complete and utter dogshit. unless they change nearly everything, the game will be a dismal failure.

Of course. You know after watching a video. Yeah. That's PLENTY to judge a game an "utter and dismal failure" several months before release.
