Assuming Beta can hold alot more people this time around, one would think Majority of the people would get in :P.

I agree also, the major reason behind alpha was for server stress and according to SE the alpha test went well. They found out 5k ppl can be on the server at once so just from that many more ppl should get into beta then alpha. Only thing is now how many servers SE will have up for close beta then how many more past that for open beta.

Well Obvious, it has to be more than 3 ( Chocobo/Moogle/Airship) :P so at least 15,000 slots ( but I still think Beta still has some form of stress testing, so I don;t think the full 5,000 server will make it right away, but I believe a good 3k a server will make it at beta Launch =). So my prediction is if it's still the 3 servers 9k people will be able to join beta. and it's a fresh pick as well =). so you have 1 out of "maybe" 9,000th chance to get into beta :P.

This is correct. The beta and alpha clients are seperate from one another and the beta was being developed along side of the alpha.

When that is finished they will implement anything they have learned from the alpha. Still doesn't mean it'll be a hop, skip, and a jump to beta after alpha closes, but it still saves a ton of time.

Well, building the client shouldn't be too hard the second time around, Alpha was really smooth, so I feel at least half of the core components of Alpha will be in Beta. Building that part won't be hard, it's the "new" stuff that was gathered that they have to translate all that feedback into code. but with Professionals.. it shouldn't be too hard.. I mean they are dealing with a way better Servers than with 1.0 was XD.

Don't be so sure. The beta client will hold a lot more than the alpha. I don't anticipate it taking a short time from when alpha is closed.

Maybe you're under the impression beta will be done by the time the alpha is closed? Haha don't count on it.

Beta should feature all the nations and jobs available.

Also at some point in the beta, we will get access to our 1.0 chars again. (IIRC)
