O.o if you read my post you would have been done in 10mins but it seem players are to lazy to even open there ports to download faster it too me 15+20mins to download the update onces i have my ports open,.

you know what, it's not that I'm lazy (far from it) I don't know how to open ports. I wasn't the one who set up my home network, Verizon did, and they didn't deign it important enough to show me how to open ports if I had to.

Or maybe you'd like to come to my house and show me how to do it???

Players should not have to open ports to patch a MMO in 2011.

The whole patching system should be redone. Using Bittorrent as an aid to help the servers is ok, but the main download source should come from SE itself. We should get 1mbs permanently as long as our connection can handle it.

Other companies do it already. SE can and it should.

And while they are at is, they could scrap that ridiculous patcher. Why the hell do we need a DirectX accelerated cancel button and a freaking music to patch/download a game?

... and where do I download the game? Using a DVD to install a MMO that will anyway get 4+ GB of patch? Really? This is not serious.

Well, I finally figured out how to access my router's ports, but when I set the port values, I'm told they are invalid. the only thing I figured out is how to turn on UPnP for my xbox.

You can look it up or call them for step by step
if i was rich i go too all your house and do it myself not trying to be rude but just trying to tell players that you can open the ports to fix this issue to SE do it themself.

@Nipa yes it's 2011 and you should know how to open ports and if you don't easy can be look up or call ISP. i understand most games don't need to open ports.

but too SE fix it themself the best way to download it opening the ports it took me no less then 20min to download the patch.

lol at the 2011 should know how to open ports, not really... Should use direct download and not force your customers to go reconfiguring their routers and wasting their bandwidth on your product.

And like I've said a million times, its not an optimal solution as it doesnt work all the time and also some people dont have that access.

Like i said before not trying to be rude it a easy fix too SE fix there mess up downloading it's been like this sense alpha and wont be fix too ps3 release or when they start this game to P2P too then opening your ports is best way or asking your ISP to do it for you.

If you don't have access then touch luck i guess noting we can do too SE end up fixing it. maybe yoshi would read all of the ppl complain about the download and fix it by next patch.

ok, I've gotten the UDP set up, but I still need the port map start for TCP, otherwise I get an invalid value error
