Application requirements:
- Must currently have an active FINAL FANTASY XIV account

So inactive accounts obviously do not fulfill the requirements for alpha.
Still they're getting invites.
I don't see why inactive accounts are preferred over active longtime 1.0 players.

I'm still waiting for an official statement. Please.

They were selected based on their answers.

Ur theory doesnt match. I have filled up the form on the first day. way before one of my friends, and he pretty much gave the same answer as i did cause we have the exact same PC except for HDD and for the playing time. But for the other stuff we pretty much gave the same answer. He got chosen, i did not. I think SE just go f**kin Random.

As Long as the people that are getting invited are actually "Helping" make this game the best it can be, Then I have no problem letting inactives play, as it will draw in more players this way than with people that are more or less fanatics of the game FFXIV. However, I do agree that they shouldn't put up False information up, as that is bad business practice.

Yeah, this is quite puzzling... How do inactive accounts sign up? Is there another application site for them?

If the people invited do not play, it just means more people will get invited next time.

Mr. I Demand an Answer, you will not get one because questions about the selection process were explicitly stated to not be answerable.

I know that i'll likely be stoned to death but for me (i haven't get a invite) it seems logical that they are giving invites to people that haven't had a active account in a while. I think that they are trying to make them come back showing how ARR run.

I don't like it but seems logical that SE do that.
