2nd new class theory

Unless it's a gatherer or crafter I don't think we're going to see anything other than Arcanist at launch. Even Yoshi-P said Summoner probably won't be ready until after the first major patch after the game launches. My reasoning for this is on the home finalfantasyxiv.com site, Arcanist and Summoner were both blanked out on their respective pages until they were leaked and then revealed. There's no more "Coming Soon" boxes on the DoW and DoM pages, however we still don't have anything posted for the DoL or DoH yet.

I do think the 2nd class theory is Musketeer and job class is Red Mage. I also have a 3rd class theory because I was digging around on FF wikia and I noticed Fencer can be the 3rd class leading to Dark knight job.

I'd rather see Fencer as a class, with Red Mage as it's job, maybe base the guild in Ishgard or something when that is released. Could do that for a few classes actually. Fencer(DoM) guild, Rogue/Thief and maybe some other DoW class. /shrug
I'd be pleased with a surprise Musketeer announcement. Engineer or Corsair for its job!

I didn't read threw everything, but I figured I'd toss in a post for justice.

First off, if they add musketeer, thats a base job. Whatever it builds into(Corsair/redmage/whatever) would be like arc>smn later, so no advanced job yet I'd assume.

Secondly, didn't yoshi say once a long time ago that he intended two new jobs at ARR launch? Arc being one, but the other, who knows? I swear I read that someplace.. I'm not going to read threw every letter and try and find every interview/watch every video.. but if someone knows it to be true and has it handy, link! /lazy

people keep talking about red mage here and there, i know that they not gonna bring that class anytime soon or never i think they want new classes that we havent been able to play before they bring that kind of class

The only reason I doubt it would work into another mage class would only be because they are already giving us Arc as new mage class, and i am skeptical of them giving us 2 new mage classes at once. Don't get me wrong, I long to see the pimp ass RDM Af hat make a return to this new FF, I just bet that whenever they choose to finally give us the next class, it will be a CC or Thf style class, as thats something we have yet to see in XIV.

Hey Orophin, first let me say thanks for the reply. I agree that its a stretch at us getting a brand new class along with Arc come launch, but if they were to give us a suprise class (along with, what I hope, is some other suprise content at launch) it would make little sense to reserve a spot for it on the official site (assuming of course its meant to BE a suprise). At the end of the day I would just be really sad if, in the process of following this remake so closely via the internet, we walk away unimpressed with the content in 2.0 simply because none of it suprised us. The interweb and our love of this game is a double edge sword my friends

Also, as you mentioned, I would actually be just as excited to get ANY new job for any of the three class types at launch, so even if it was a DoL or DoH job I would be just as stoked!

Now... interestingly you can see Bard and Archer were originally different classes... or so it leaves us to believe.
But, as always take anything pre 2.0 with a grain of salt as it may have changed concept more then once ^^

Sentinel used to be the GLA shield wonder if thats dead on gone in ARR or will it return as a new job or a shield again.
Enforcer sounds different, so does stavesman.

I always really like the idea of a physical damage class using a stave, especially considering how effect they are and how awesome it would be to see. Lots of aoe moves I would hope
