Alpha Video 5 - 3 sec GCD combat seems slow

except for a well designed interface and including quests in the level-up experience, I really don't see what's so "cookie cutter" and "bland" about ARR. Everything i've seen just makes me more eager to play it.

Many people view the act of taking ANY system from ANY other game, no matter how good or necessary that system is, to be an act of degradation for the game. Clearly a game should have all it's own, innovative systems or else it will fail...or so that's what I get from the forums here.

Yeah, I'm a bit confused by the negativity. During the 1.0 alpha I completely agreed, but this time it seems odd.

Me being clever now why does your post sound like you being very rude to me? I'm sorry i can't confirm it but once you get your alpha invite go and look it up yourself on the alpha forums. Stop being a asshole to people just because they can't post a source i did went back and confirm it guess what? i still can't tell you what it says but trust me it does make that 3 GCD be noting but a memory.

p.s i bet people bitch and complain as much everyone does here to make the GCD be 1.5sec for low level just because people cry to much. By the time ffxiv ARR is release it would be a real WoW clone thanks to everyone crying and making SE change things.

Once again with other spells having such a long casting time by the time you do other the GDC would be done. Also with people crying like dumbass kids they would lower down the GDC i see FFXIV become a real wow clone if yoshi-p keep listing to the cry babys.

GCD being done before you end casting spells is different than GCD being 0. If it was 0 you could chain spam WS's until you rank out od TP in 30 seconds. I know they said it will become lower, but not 0, as that would've been broken.

ARR is already on the way to become another bland, cookie-cutter "standard" MMO and there's people that actually want it to be even much more like every other MMO? Seriously people? Seriously? I fear combat will be nothing but a spamfest, and people still want to be able to spam stuff faster? Damn...

The reason any MMOs become "Standard" MMOs is because players have no idea what they want, a developer gives players something different and they cry, so they change it to take parts from other games, and they cry.

GCD being done before you end casting spells is different than GCD being 0. If it was 0 you could chain spam WS's until you rank out od TP in 30 seconds. I know they said it will become lower, but not 0, as that would've been broken.

Once again how can you chain spam ws if you still casting the first spell/ws? by the time the spell/ws is done doing it's thing the OCD would be over then you can cast the next spell/ws you cant' really just do WS or spell top of other you have to wait for the spell/ws to be done just like FFXIV 1.0 version where if i do the long WS from DRG i can get hit by plumes and such from ifrit so it was best to wait for a opening.

And like i said people going to bitch and cry like little kids to make srue the GCD is pretty much useless at high level that they would take it off.

Their alpha version is better and less buggy than their 1.0 release version even after several patches. Don't know what people are thinking either.

Also, I don't like to be too nit picky til a game's final beta version. That's when you have to be extremely critical to some systems. The work between that version and release is the most important IMO.
