    yes i hope so, the old gear is mostly lame.
    They should add a lot more gear and they should add latent effect, status affects and so on.
    Now is a great time to test everything, the server are not very populated, SE can balance everything.
    If the respawn time and drop rates are too high, they can be adjusted easily, any time.

    I have thought of the best solution to the nm timer problem and hope it is taken seriously.
    The colliseum , add all the nm that come out over patches to the colliseum and a player vs nm battle and make the reward the standard item.
    World nm's give hardcore player what they want a +1 of the exact same item and the 24 ,48 hour respawn timers they all want.

    The monsters should be notorious b/c of their temperment and difficulty to kill. They shouldn't be classified as NMs b/c they're notoriously late all the time. 24/48 hour respawns are rediculously high and when those windows fall out of a certain regions playtime, you're waiting days upon days for the timmer to slowly shift back into your playtime.

    The colliseum idea is a neet one but I think a better idea for increasing the difficulty of obtaining higher lv NM items (if you really want to be sadistic to yourself) would be a drastic reduction in their droprates. That way everyone has a chance of seeing the nm and claiming it, but even if you do get it the chance of actually getting the drop would be low. It would make the items more special if they were a pain in the ass to get. The casuals would have a harder time getting the items since they wouldn't be able to sit at them longer, but at least they would have a chance at claiming.

    I Think in a way the hardcore have an advantage in the pops of nms they learn when the respawn window is (based on my ff11 experiences) And even know which monster to kill to get the nm to pop faster, something i always had trouble with when hunting low, mid level ff11 nm's.

    I still hope colliseum version of nm can be put into the game (item drop rate up for debate on that) , as for pop time or how rare the items on world nms , other more hardcore players, can decide that as long as they added that other way.

    Edit to say the colliseum version should be instances- so everyone can do it. rather than waiting around to do it.

    The Colosseum idea sounds great for both casual and hardcore players. I know I didn't come up with the idea but below is how I think it should work...

    Colosseum
    Place should have multiple difficulties ranging from HARD to INSANE, maybe 4 options in total. You could choose your Difficulty and based on that is what items can drop. Each difficulty would drop the same items, just the harder you choose the higher the HQ could be, not guaranteed. So HARD would drop NQ "Item", VERY HARD would drop "NQ and +1 Version", EXTREME would drop NQ, +1 or +2, and INSANE would drop NQ, +1, +2 or +3 of the version. The HQ's should be a very small % to get these, which would make this content repeatable. The boss/mob they fight should be random so you have to be able to adapt your strategy according to what spawns, not preset and ready to go. You should have to collect items within the game to take your chance at "X Item", you choose the item based on what items you use to start this battle.

    Any player should be able to come in and View these battles, giving people something to watch if they choose. Maybe they pay 100 gil or something small just for fun. Any buff's should not be allowed inside the Colosseum and MP regen needs to be OFF. This gives a more challenging field to this, Both Casuals and Hardcore players would enjoy this. Any items dropped, should not be tradeable, this helps prevent RMT from abusing this system.

    NM's should be special, not "uncommon mobs" and should have a respawn time of minimum 15 minutes, and More spawn locations. Not 1 single room, or few spawn locations. This still gives the casual players a good chance of getting claims as the area is wider to find these NM's. If you want to make these "Uncommon" mobs then the 3-5 minute timer is ok, but please dont give game changing items/armors for these, it devalues the idea of collecting and/or getting these items. This is about accomplishments, not about hardcore vs casual. A sense of accomplishment in games goes a LONG WAYS... Please give us this feeling by doing something that gives us this warm feeling. Any player loves to feel accomplished.

    Just me 2 cents, please others LIKE this if you do, or continue to add to the idea, I think this could be something to grow upon.

    They spawn fast but the drop rate is bad..

    But I'll say it again.. it's better to be there fighting than waiting..
    If you long for the hours spent camping NMs then you probably should be playing FFXI..
