UI/action bar question...

Am I the only one who prefers having a menu based UI setup as opposed to the pretty pictures action bar setup...I've read where most people believe that this is a sign of Yoshi taking XIV in the direction of modern MMO's...but I don't agree, I honestly don't see how this makes the game more modern...but thats just my opinion...my hope was that with 2.0 and the customizable UI, I would get to create a menu based UI or even the option to select which UI system I prefer because I really don't mind the windows...but most of all I don't mind reading text as opposed to looking at pics to make decisions....I do hate the whole pressing 111222345...and so forth...of course this might be a losing arguement but I just wanted to restate my thoughts on the matter.

You mean a menu skill like in XI? Because if I recall, in XI we'd all just make macros with single skills... which was basically the same thing as icons in a bar.

sadly it is not...the way the whole system is setup it does not in any way feel like or resemble how it was in XI To me this system feels cumbersome, where as the one in XI jsut seemed like a natural fit...but like I said before thats just my personal opinion. Also I never made a macro with just one skill. It would be nice to have a choice tho.
