Are you guy's redoing the content to match your redesign of the game mechanics ? are you polishing it ? or are you guy's holding said content, until a certain date to release it ?

    I agree that the current story quests should be condensed to a lower level range. The problem, as I see it, is that the story battles become available at a rank when it is possible for combat classes to solo. If they became available sooner, players would have the option of grouping to do them right away or ranking up to solo them later.

    Or maybe Tanaka was too shortsighted to produce said content for the main launch? You're probably talking about Ishgard. That is likely for the first expansion, or at least later on.

    My question was not directed at you, nor is it speculation, it is a fact he said those words, i'm just asking a few questions, nothing more nothing less, if you cant give me the answers to my questions, then why bother ?

    Ever since the botched launch, I've been very critical of Tanaka. I don't think he really did plan that far ahead.

    I agree they should re-write parts of the story to make more sense too. When there's a couple of months between every convoluted plot twist it's pretty hard see what the hell is going on anyway. But I agree that it's the gameplay during these missions that needs more work. Some missions are basically just walking from point a to b to see people talk.

    I'm rank 36 and so far the missions have not been very challenging... they are starting to become more fun, but they are way too far apart, I feel they should be closer together, specially all these that you can solo.

    That was the point of the design. People complained in XI that the missions required a group, and they were too hard during CoP. Given that Komoto (who is in charge of quests etc.) explicitly said he'd never do such things again back then, the design of the current main scenario was a natural choice. That said, I'm extremely disappointed that I have to wait till the "raid" and battle adjustments before getting new real storyline. It means I'll probably not log until that happens or so....

    Well I think they did what they did so people could do them on crafting or gathering jobs and no one would complain. But yeah I agree with you OP.

    Maybe not a re-design but just future mission lines perhaps like the dev said.
