I agree with your statement. Its slowly peeling away from Final Fantasy and more like the standard icon spamming MMO's of today. No strategy at all.TBH, they need to bring back auto atk and tp gain. I hate WoW/tera/aion/etc play style. It's mostly tank and spank. What i liked about 1.0 is the fact that you have to know how to play ur class/job. Sure anyone can just play a class/job, but to play it well is what made 1.0 great. ex: a tank who don't know how to dodge, dps who should be does crappy dmg, whm who can't heal, blm who use spells correctly, etc. Don't get me wrong i still wanna see 2.0 at launch, but so far, i'm not very thrill about the battle style.
lmao. This is true.are you kidding? you need to know your class in any game, especially Tera. some classes die in 1hit from bosses endgame. and even tanks need to dodge there too. so how is it different? the difference is in Tera you need to MANUALLY target some heals. so maybe you should go play that if you wanna feel elite. silly fanboy
I know right! It should go back to how FF1 was and never evolve. :/
So which style of FF did you expect? This is an MMO, there has only been one other MMO of the FF series.
It's kinda funny. Whenever someone says a game is or will be a spam fest, they usually are not very good at the game. Where was the strategy in 1.0 when people just followed the same skill rotation because of long cool downs? Yea, that wasn't strategy, that was following a pattern. Now you'll have some versatility, but I won't put it past players to try to find the best pattern. But even so, with low cool downs, you'll have the opportunity to adjust to the situation instead of just doing the skills that you have off cool down because you want that dps.
What do you mean? You don't think this global cooldown will remain?

i'm not talking about gcd (which it's confirmed it's reduced at highter levels) but skills not having recast in alpha
I'd like to see links to where it was stated that the global cooldown gets reduced at higher levels, and skills having individual recasts outside of alpha.
I know I will start a flame war with this, but at this point I have had my fill.
My question is a simple one.
Why are there so many people complaining and trying to turn FFXIV (Which stands for Final Fantasy) into Aion, WOW, Tera, etc?
If you want to play Aion or WOW here is a suggestion. Go play them. . . Shocking.
We play FFXIV because we want to play a FF (Which stands for Final Fantasy) game and enjoy it as we have enjoyed the others.
Do you go to McD's wanting a Whopper? Do you go to Wendys wanting a Big Mac? Do you go to Burger King wanting a Baconator? No. You go because you want a hamburger and you want a the kind that is provided to you by that eatery. They all sale hamburgers, yet all are different and your able to choose.
Can FF (Which stands for Final Fantasy. See a pattern yet) use an update in some areas? Yes. I have no problem there. Full disclosure, I have wanted jump in game for years and supported the addition of it. But now I see, swim, flying mounts, 3 seconds between attacks is to long, Grass (seriously that one made me laugh. WOW couldn't look like 1.0 in a wet dream), etc. The FF purest want the game to make SOME updates but remain pure to our roots and who we are.
You are free to play any game you want, FF included. But please keep FF, FF. Stay who we are, update a few areas and move forward.
Welcome to The Locker!!
She's implying that weaponskills will have their own recasts in addition to the Global Cooldown and that those individual recasts simply aren't present in the current Alpha. However, I don't recall reading anything of this nature.
I think most of people. are taking our informaion from Alpha forums if you in it go read it yourself. not sure what you said is really in there or not but go look for it yourself if you in alpha.
