Well the dress sphere system in general I wasn't really a fan of don't think I even made it to the second chapter of the game but I was just talking about the concept where showing skin can be more conservative with just small additions. Rikku for instance with the skirt Paine iron clad but still with mid drift so they themselves are no more asinine then Tifa's suspenders and hot pants but would not disturb the more sensible personas that were outraged by the coliseum gear. The suspension of disbelieve is required here for things like "bikini protects you from teeth?" though since the thf and or ninja wearing little to nothing is normal in pop culture because of evasion and main character protection.
On the opposite end though with Lulu her design in actuality shows less skin then we see on the red carpet premieres but is designed for you eye to be drawn first to the cleavage then to the right leg.
Well I guess that depends on how you view it because the skeletal animation as well as the body measurements for midland F to Miqote are mimics so they would look the same but you would perceive them differently because of facial differences and hairstyles. I assume the Female Roegadyn will match the Female Elezen unless they make a new skeleton to use along with a Female Highlander (IS this still a thing?) It is likely that the Paine's Fohawk for instance will be better represented by Miqote just like a Roegadyn female will fit more like Lulu because of the fierce facial features shown for the concepts. But I am not really aiming at cut and paste costumes/gear but just design styles.
I agree and I hope the design team does follow this but the majority of the gear we will have at launch is from the design system of exchangeable pieces to make gear slightly different with parts re-rendered in certain skins and pelts such as the milita harness for instance. So new gear types are on the rise the bahamut gear concepts are alien compared to 1.0 item and with that in mind there are some clothing trends, weapon designs, and even integrated tech that would ergonomically flow well into 14. That is why I am very selective of the concept arts I post up as I am trying to to portray pieces of ideas not the whole embodiment. Lulu Concept for instance has this gothic sinister look that portrays the black magic vibe but also a very serious and adult which is personified by her actions and speech but her costume does not take away from it. My point in using the design is because while its not a slinky dress or a bra and thong it will still appease the fan service some gear is built around.
