Limsa is built purposely to resist tidal waves. That's what its structure is all about.
Also, I didn't really see meteors hitting the actual city of Ul'Dah. They seem to hit behind.

I vote for them being alive. They were hyped way too much in the Meteor storyline to be killed off just like that.
There's also this recent bit from Yoshi-P via Rein about a female admiral in post-Bahamut Limsa. Hmm, I wonder who could it be?

Let me introduce you to the Walking Dead comics, TV show and game. Don't be so sure that SE wouldn't kill a main character off. These ones I doubt it, but you have to take into consideration the nature of XIV especially it's storyline and how for all intents and purposes, being thrown out in ARR.
Keep in mind that FFXIV is your typical high fantasy, not some bloody zombie apocalypse. Instead of those guys, who I am actually concerned about is our favorite elvaan grandpa. This, again, being HF, it's totally possible they'll bring him back in some form.

Which is an entirely different genre, storytelling approach and approach to character design and development (and pays off to an absolutely unsightly fad that should have been dead, and not walking, years ago, but that's a different story).
Yep, comparing apples to rounds of cheese is the way to go![]()
So horror is the only genre where hyped characters get killed off? I never realized that.Which is an entirely different genre, storytelling approach and approach to character design and development (and pays off to an absolutely unsightly fad that should have been dead, and not walking, years ago, but that's a different story).

Maybe the start of Free Companies is the aftermath of their death.
