Yeah, they did a good job with this. I'm looking forward to what's next.
No need for "told you so"s. Let's enjoy it and get back in game. Keep the feed back cycle going.

Oh, it's no real negativity. Just making a simple point: "don't go around telling people that you're right and they're wrong over and over for 30 pages if you don't have a crystal ball or you don't actually know what you're saying very well".
It's a good lesson to learn, and peregrine is definitely not the only one that should learn it around here.
Owning up normally involves apologizing (that's what really takes a lot of honesty), especially after continuated and quite vicious attacks both on the developers and on part of the community, not just jumping up with a big smile and an appreciating post like nothing happened
Maybe it's slightly bad of me to make of her/him an example, and for that I'm quite sorry, but as I said, this is a lesson that a large part of this community absolutely *needs* to learn if this forum is to become an actual constructive tool for the developers.
The dev team isn't composed of brainless goons that know nothing about development picked at random from the street of akihabara. They're all professionals with several years, and sometimes decades of experience weighing on their shoulders. While corporate pressure (probably) led them to err at release, they're doing quite a lot of work to steer things the right way, even while there are still underlying problems from a severe natural disaster. There's absolutely no reason accuse them of slacking and lying to the community before they had a reasonable time to complete their project.
Unfortunately the "I know better than developers" attitude is a common issue between communities of gamers, but it's particularly rampant here. And honestly, it needs to go or at least to be curbed quite a bit.

I was very happy with the update at first, then as I experienced it and saw how the NM's function, etc. I became less happy with it. It's still a good patch, and I have to say that if all of their patches in the future are of this caliber or higher, things are going in the right direction.
I think you scored a moderate win with this patch Yoshi. I knew you could do it yay!
And in that light let's get back to feedback. No soap boxes needed. This forum is not a place for personal vindication. Let's return to polite conversation.

There should be a YAYPATCH 1.17 thread to counter the LOL ones XD
Very nice patch, indeed.

It's no personal vindication, as much as a little bit of a reminder for the ones that tend to think they "know better" than the developers, and end up expressing their ideas like they were the professionals talking to little kids (with absolute lack of humility and respect), instead of them being the kids talking to professionals (like it is in reality).
Mind you. I don't think many will heed it, but if even one person does, it's all gain.
This patch is a one huge tease.

I'll take a look at the game when i get home, but i dont think that will be enough to make me come back.![]()

One huge, sexy tease. Once they're done with the major overhaul of the game's systems they'll have more time to just add content and all the smaller fixes.
Honestly though, don't force yourself to play if you don't really like it. I find it just makes you dislike the game even more. That's one of the reasons I quit for a few months at launch actually, I felt like playing was an obligation and just hated the game more and more for it until I just quit. Maybe give it a shot, if it's not up to your liking then give it a rest for a few months and come back later or find a game that's more to your liking. That's really all you can do, just don't try to force yourself to like it.
