Well the ancient wizard who forged the stardust rod was named Shatotto :P

There's a Shatoto NPC in Windurst Waters. Different from Shantotto, and far less significant. I wonder why they recycled the overall name when Tarutaru naming conventions have plenty of unused possibilities.

OMG I forgot about Nenekko! The girl Lalafell from the miner's quests! She inspired me to document as much of 1.0 as possible for the sake of Eorzean literacy.

The Miqo'te prostitutes, Merlwyb, Louisoix, Hildibrand, Raubahn, Yda, Papalymo, and at least 100 more. XIV had/has some truly memorable characters, which is great, since I always felt XI lacked in those. (I said 'had' because unfortunately, we don't know yet if all those people survived.. I'm sure the prostitutes didn't. /cry)

That's a point, the seedier characters (for instance, yes, the Ul'dahn 'entertainers') had better be carried over. Yes they were just background NPC's but all the same their simply being there really added something, like the game wasn't afraid to shy away from the worse potentials of its setting even if it wasn't about to go revel in them too much.
