screw competing MMO, we are Final FantasyNormally i don't respond to inane comments, but please what is your reasoning for not wanting addons at launch? Not having addons just puts FFXIV:ARR further behind competing MMOs. When people see they don't have basic addons like damage and threat meters they will be likly to choose another game.
There is no good reason for arguing against SE bringing out an addon dev kit as eairly as possible.
I suggest somehow trying it before you get it because I spent $800 on the sony 3d viewer thing and it was pretty cool, had a nice big picture but uncomfortable as hell.. at least for me because I was planning on wearing that thing for hours. Too heavy and you ended up with a rectangular red spot on your forehead which ended up giving me a massive headache after only like 1 full hour.
The prototype is only 300 and takes up your entire field of vision.
I've also heard that it's WAY lighter and more comfortable than the sony.

SDK's, in general, require a full team to manage, test, QA, etc. And usually take an inane amount of work to maintain. I think I'd rather they work on making sure the game is good and solid before diving into things like SDK's. One of the reasons why the GUI has so much effort put into it is that so we don't need SDK's for the GUI.
What it really comes down to is this: average players won't care enough to use it. Programmers won't let the lack of it stop them.
Can you use it without having to turn your head to turn in the game? I might consider it if that's possible but I'll never buy one of those things again without trying it first. I was too excited over the sony one and ended up regretting it hardcore. Lesson learned.
Yes it is, you can turn the head tracking completely off and even have a mixed mode.
