Translation: I need a program to tell me if im doing it right...As a DPS there is no way for me to judge and evaluate my performance and the performance of others without damage/dps meter addon. This kind of stuff typically isn't put in a default UI by game developers so it is up to the community to make an addon for it. For DPS players who care about their DPS in any MMO including FFXIV:ARR a dps meter addon is a must, there is no arguing this fact.
You dont need a parser to tell you if you are doing a lot of dmg.. the numbers come up in game, but its too hard to pay attention right? And you use parser to judge others? I guess if you really lack the confidence to play without this I understand your plight, but itll be ok. If it helps ill stand there and tell you that you are dealing good dmg!

They wiill release the source to make Add Ons when it is READY
hussh you silly trollster.

About 3-4months later when the meta-game is set up... Don't worry someone is bound to be working on it for their LS or something.
Cue the Ps3 segregation due to not being able to have those add-ons.

There are lots of things which are more important than this kind of e-peen meter for the release![]()

Whenever they plan to release it, we need it before then.
I mean that we need to test it before they release it just like we alpha/beta the main game. They need to ensure that it doesnt suck. However I'm pretty sure I read Yoshida will be getting that out before an official release so that it can be tested..
so.. whenever that happens that is when we get it![]()

Not to mention, as far as i've read, addons are supposed to be limited to modding the way the UI looks, not much more.
