Why not abolish the Class system entirely in favor of Jobs? [@ Devs]

After thinking about it for a short while, I've come to the conclusion that having branching jobs from one class would never work out with the way the armoury system is right now.

If PLD and DRK did branch from GLD and you chose to be a PLD and lvl to 50~ your DRK would automatically be the same lvl, but without the job abilities from the quests (if you didn't do quests along the way).

Of course this is strictly speaking of the 1.whatever version of FFXIV, but yea.... it would be lame.

If they made it so PLD or DRK started at lvl 1 when you unlocked them, we'd be playing FFXI again.

I was thinking instead if level 1 you could always start it at the level you do the job quest (35?)

Would get your own weapon, skill sets and traits logically having a separate class and you don't have to level from 1..
