    They did this to reward the people who were loyal enough to invest in the game's future, in spite of its previous reviews. If you started late or left and came back late, its your decision to do so, and in turn, forfeiting this 'perk'.

    IIRC, people were still able to grab legacy close to the deadline if they paid 3 months of subscription in advance.
