if you are concerned about restrictions, well with ps3 its abit too late for that, besides from what i understood ps3 will not hinder PC version.

I already posted my position in the post you TLDR'd. If u didn't care then, you don't care now and just want to argue.

I am against any and all ports of a MMO, especially this one, to consoles now and future. Ps3, they wouldn't even be doing if it wasn't for the promise they made cause they know it's a terrible idea. In my opinion we won't be seeing this game on any other consoles, maybe the PS4, so this discussion is quite over for me.

Well it took them 3+ years to get it on PS3 finally, so I'm going to say no

My 2 cents...

Didn't expect anything from Wii U but had a chance to play it at a friend's house this past weekend and had an absolute blast. The games were incredibly fun and the controller was super fun to use... not to mention the awesome social features. A quick comment on the launch lineup: the new Mario is savage, Scribblenauts is hilariously charming, Zombie U is hella fun, and even Nintendo land has tons of arcade like thrills. If it gets good 3rd party support I could see it being a serious contender.

As for XIV, it could make some great use of that controller. Not to mention, the Wii U has been selling extremely well so far so that means a fairly large potential pool of players.

Regardless... all you prophets of doom, sorry to burst your bubbles, but the Wii U is a really solid system. Well done Nintendo.

I'm going out on a limb here (so it's only an assumption based on what you said), but it sounds like your suffering from SE's old 'PS2 Limitations' syndrome that they loved spouting when it came to improvements for FFXI. I'd like to bring to light however FFXI was developed ON AND FOR THE PS2 then had a software wrap to port it to PC, with FFXIV it's the other way around so we won't have the same restrictions or limitations. Any limitations that might appear on the Consoles side will l likely be worked around through it's interface and not hinder the PC side at all.

Games can't be run off the external hard drive because USB is too slow. So that rules out half of all their consoles. And installing the game might barely be possible on the deluxe as long as the user hadn't downloaded anything else at all. I'd say that doesn't bode well. Playing on the Wii U would be fun, but who would do it? My PC is way more capable.

Um no? usb 2.0 runs on a max speed of 35 MB/s thats more than enough. Its confirmed you can play from usn sticks or drives on WiiU.

I would and a lot other people would, dont assume just be cause you would not its the same for others.
