Tobyx you are REALLY misunderstanding something.
Alpha is not the place for advertising because the game is vastly incomplete and clearly broken and only certain base aspects are being tested. Whoever sees an alpha build will have nothing but bad things to talk about it.

Alpha is not complete. Alpha is a chore. The reason there is an NDA on alpha material is because it gives off the wrong image for the game. Alpha is purely technical. It's not an advertisement product. The reason we don't see gameplay in the Alpha videos is because it's not working the way it'll work in the final product.

I'm complete getting it. Read your reply again and now tell me how it makes sense to divulge this "alpha" to people who have long abandoned FFXIV instead of people who will really test this to the core and be happy about anything, even if it has no content.

This, this and this again! Alpha it's a stress test isn't it?! So it's not the right "field" to experience the new game, especially for those people who quitted years ago.

Then let try the beta (that will be more complete on every aspect) to everyone.

Naaa he will play it a bit just to tell in ts EVERY bad thing about the game.

I'm not saying they SHOULDN'T have been given a chance, but it should have been equal chance. If they DIDN'T give them a chance then those people may have thought that SE doesn't want their business anyways.

The only difference is we've been playing the game and they haven't. Its also one of the key factors.

This. Most of the quitters don't want to know how stable the server is when x people are fighting y mobs in the same zone or if they can push those numbers a bit further. They want to know if they can quest, fight, play without it being as tedious as in 1.0 at launch. I don't know how much content is present in the Alpha builds, but i doubt it's enough to make them stay for good.

Whats done is done there is no use being angry at the choices that were made. I remember reading that the first few days of global the servers wouldn't even be online 24 hours anyways.

They also said they want everyone to get a chance. This isn't the last phase of alpha invites. Yoshi-P said he wants everyone to have a chance. So be patient and we'll all get an invite.
