It's simply a matter of target. There's a crowd that prefers F2P and a crowd that prefers P2P. Both are a viable target. For the moment, as Yoshida said very clearly, SE is targeting the crowd that prefers P2P, that hasn't been very well served by the industry lately.

I am well aware that others like F2P. That's not the issue here, and you know it.

The issue is your motives, as you have conveyed them, being 100% based on your own greedy self-interest instead of that of the game and everyone playing it.

In fact, you want others to pay more for their own entertainment, so you can be a free-loader and pay nothing for your own. That's why you want F2P - per your own say so.

You guys are gonna get enough of asking for F2P...... And when it does happen watch how much F2P Characters are going to be restricted as followed: You won't be able to carry more than 2,000 gil, Inventory space 20 slots, can't make linkshells, or free companies, Can't buy a house must stay at the Inn only AND pay a fee of 1,000 gil one earth week, can't raise chocobos, you will have to rent one EVERYTIME. Anima 100? I think not you get 30 anima if you run out time to put those feet to the pavement. And then when this does come into play we gonna see how much F2P players stay around... And Most people are legacy members so WHY are you complaining about paying 9.99 a month compared to other prices of MMO's come on people be real. The company need money so they can give us the things we need..... this $h!t isn't free.

Im sure ARR will pass ff11 on subs numbers, but need like 100-200%+ (1mil-2mil) stayble within a year if not ARR will be force to Free to play.

A nice mmo like ARR that have 1mil-2mil stayble subs can go long way, if that ever happen 1mil-2mils can grow 2-3 times in subs in 2-3 years. but for that to happen looking at % is only at 35% that will happen.

I always find extremely surprising how many market analysts are out there...

Please don't make this F2P you have a dedicated fanbase who are willing to pay for a great game!I have 2 launch copies of FFXIV and used the Onion Helm code(not the Goggles code) and after realizing how poorly this game ran i left,but i still CAME BACK to check the improvements every 3 or 4 months!The game had changed dramatically since launch and SE let u diehards play for free long time while they tried to fix it....... To launch this game or even consider a F2P anywhere near launch to me is a slap in their Face!........I ddin't keep playing it just wasn't fun and i can run the game NP,but i kept up on it.To be honest alot of the F2P fans probably played for free that whole time because it used to be FREE!

I'm Legacy peep,but the people who stayed true even after SE started charging again should have major say in this!

I do suggest time cards for people to P2P because some people won't or can't use a credit card.Plus with the PSN getting hacked and alot of other games it would lock a bigger fanbase later on!

league of legends sucks, dont see why it called a MMO when its not.
they want you to buy everything to play it so its not really F2P its a game that nickel & dimes the naive so they think its a free game.
