Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on Wii U? Possibility?

I'm just too old I guess. I remember making fun of my parents trying to play a game and waving the controller around like an idiot. Now, its required? lol

All power to SE if they want to put the effort in to working in all the features of the Wii U, more players is always good. Although I don't know how many people it will realistically draw in considering Nintendo's target audience. Just dont expect it an time soon.

Personally I think they have better things to concentrate on right now than this. Get a solid game with an interested public, then go for the gimmicky system port.

The Wii U isn't going anywhere. They already have an MMO for Wii U though and they may feel it better to keep them on separate platforms. There are many who would rather play Dragon Quest over FF, especially in Japan.

You realize that a Quadcore Processor with 8 Gigs of Ram and what I can only assume would be a dedicated graphics card would make that Console Cost 800 dollars right?

You do know the PS3 actually has a 3.2 GHz 6 core cpu (Well 6 SPEs) and a dedicated graphics card, but on;y 250MB of RAM (which is why SE had memory issues porting FFXIV) however high RAM is only needed for multitasking, a games console does not need high RAM (2-3GB maximum) how many programs do you use at one time that use more than 2-3GB of RAM? I know I do an that is virtual machines (why I have 8GB in my laptop) but that is very RAM heavy software.

Even PC games don't need more than that. So yeah in the modern day a quad core, with dedicated graphics and 8GB of RAM (which would be useless in a console) would not cost that much, it would overall still be weaker than the PS3.

I don't even think one core of the PS3 is used in most games because it's just not needed.

Don't kid yourself, I'd say there are just as many Nintendo fanboys as Sony/Xbox fanboys here, especially since it seems like your criteria for labeling someone as a Sony fanboy is that they don't think the Wii U is the greatest thing ever.

I label someone as a fanboy when they make stupid blanket statements about a system based on the shortcomings of the previous system. "Wii U sucks it has no online its gfx sux derherher gimme PS3" I personally own all three systems and enjoy them all. I don't like fanboys from any side of the spectrum, although it really generally seems like Sony fanboys are the worst of them all.

Fanboy or not, specs or not, they had already planned a PS3 release so it was in the works. That is their second chance. They need a successful game before they can think of starting to port this over to the Wii U. If this game can have a successful first year of the relaunch then we can have this discussion again, until then is merely wishful thinking.

Not trying to be a stick in the mud but crying from either side is kind of irrelevant. i seriously doubt the company would allow a third chance to "relaunch" the game so only a successful game will be ported to any system beyond the PC and PS3. if there is a flaw in my thinking, please let me know.

PS: I'm not at all interested in owning a Wii U. BUT i have bought new systems solely for SE games before (SNES, Playstation, PS2) and if the gimmicks look worth it, i would buy a Wii U.

Probably best to see if it works on the PS3 before thinking of bringing it over to the 360/Wii U.

I'm not saying there is any problem with them getting the PS3 version out first. I agree they made the promise and they need to fulfill it. I'm not saying a Wii U/360 version needs to happen at the same time. My problem only really lies with the people who are making ignorant statements about the system that they obviously haven't spent any time with. For people to completely write off them releasing the game on Wii U for reasons that really don't apply is stupid.

Can I just ask, why is this thread still going when Yoshida said he wanted to fulfill the promise of a ps3 version, THEN he would look at other consoles? He wants to get the game to as many people as possible.
